With increased video use comes greater copyright concerns for higher ed
Many individuals on any given campus produce video, often adding graphics, still photos, audio clips, and stock footage to round out their own material. Copyright remains a big issue. More here.
Copyright and multimedia
Copyright was never an easy subject… Now place it in the context of multimedia environment and in the university located in Kazakhstan with faculty from many countries of the world. Different laws, somewhat different concepts… Let’s start from the very beginning and review laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan pertaining to copyright (yes, you can get them translated into English right there online, so no need to worry about them being in a foreign language), fair use guidelines applicable in US, and possibly come up with clear guidelines for faculty, staff, and students to follow.
