So, which one will win here?
Google has done some interesting things lately. LMS Classroom is one of them. More likely your institution is already running an LMS at the enterprise level. If not (or you are looking for an alternative or as a project site, explore this video for details. Be aware, that if any LMS is not fully ingratiated with your enrollment system and other registrar’s databases, a faculty member would need to manually create class sites and enroll students. (and would you really like it???).
Moodle 2.7 has been released. The upgrade to the popular free and open source learning management system includes new themes with improved responsive design, a new accessibility-focused text editor and more. I am not sure when we will upgrade to this version at NU.
Google is planning to launch its own LMS. The new product, Classroom, will work on top of Google Apps for Education to “create and collect assignments”, keep classes organized, and “improve class communications.”
There are many free and for pay Learning Management System (LMS) platforms. There is some buzz about upgraded Canvas. Check it out! The nice place to start with a brief intro is on this ProfHacker site. Happy browsing
