There were three trends identified and I am very happy that 2 of them are the ones we have started working on: (1) Learning will be much improved and (2) Campuses and classrooms will be much nicer. Let’s see what happens in 20125!
We are to nurture and graduate students who are collaborators, good team players, and effective communicators. These skills are not just personal traits. They need to be taught and practiced. And not just as a one time workshop, but as part of the regular curriculum t the university. There are some good examples of this happening at University Wisconsin Madison. Another example was just published by Campus Technology. Do not pay attention at the fact that they describe a law school. The idea is easily implementable at any university. Let’s dream!!!

I was asked today what exactly do I mean when I say we need modern learning spaces. Are they labs, classrooms, conference rooms, library rooms? All the above! But let’s ask ourselves why do we need them? Let’s reflect on how we want out graduates to turn up… We want them to be experts in their fields (content knowledge), but we also want them to have critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. And we need modern learning spaces to facilitate developing of these critically important skills. So, what are modern learning spaces? Access my diigo collection on this topic. What other ideas you? Please let me know.
